Good to hear there is a serious attempt being made. However, in light of what is happening with comprehensive healthcare reform, is it advisable to try comprehensive immigration reform especially with the congressional make of of the 2 chambers?
The 2010 CIR already had strict border protection clauses and it mandated a secure border first. It looks like the republicans want to split it from the 'illegals path to legalization' and concentrate on bills that have enforcement first, reading Graham's statement. He was even opposed to the moderate DREAM act.

Hello All,
One of my friends mentioned that there is a possibility that I-94 card could be stamped with the date on my current visa stamp at the port of entry. This would invalidate my wife's transfer since the new transferred visa is valid until 2009 whereas my stamping with my old employer is valid only until Dec 2007. In order to avoid this, should my wife submit her passport as well as the I-797 and I-539 from my current employer and ask the officer to stamp the new dates on the I-94? Please advise.

It would not invalidate the transfer, as legally there is no such thing as transfer it is always a new H1/4 what she loses is her extension period on I-94 and you will be forced to file an extension for her an unnecessary hassel. Usually if H1/4 travel together this problem rarely happens as the H4 spouse is automatically given same I-94 time as H1 per their new I-797. But some VO's surprise are still too new at their job to figure out the same for H4 travelling alone.

can someone tell me (PM if you dont want it on a pubic board) what went wrong with SKIL Bill last year? Where did it fail (senate/house?) did it just get dropped, or went up for vote and did not make it?

Nothing went wrong with SKIL bill. Neither did SKIL bill fail. We computer programmers think that the world is built around Boolean logic 1/0, true/false, pass/fail, right/wrong. In politics most of the stuff is "in-between".
Every year many bills get introduced and only a small faction (less than 2%) are taken up for discussion/vote in the congress. Some bills pass in one house and are not taken up in the second house of the congress. Some bill pass both houses but they do not go to conference committee. Republican leadership in the House wanted the issue to be there so that they would go back to their base and scare voters with the “illegal alien” election platform. So in the end nothing happened. After the elections, after Republicans lost the majority in the House and the Senate, Republicans lost the need/leadership to address the immigration issue and Democrats announced to address this in the 110th Congress so that they could take up the credit for solving the problem. So for all practical purposes, nothing actually happened on immigration issue or SKIL bill.
This year too, SKIL bill is very unlikely to go anywhere all by itself. We all have to wait for the compressive immigration reform bill to pass or die. No one knows by when comprehensive bill could be considered as dead this year. Several times I have talked with my congressman’s office and they have told me that SKIL could be considered by itself only if key lawmakers know that comprehensive immigration bill is no longer possible. They never fail to add that this is a pure speculation and no one can predict how it will all unroll and we just have to wait for the things to happen in next few months. A friend of mine just came from India. Works for a bodyshopper. He is transferring to L-1A so that he can file in EB-1 multinational manager. Is this possible? What are the minimum requirements for EB-1?

I wouldn't export it from photoshop at all.
Are you sure the tutorial called for you to export from photoshop? Can you provide a link to the tut?
I would:
Save for web as a png or a jpg, depending upon which looks better. Then choose "import" in Flash to import the object. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that you can directly import photoshop files into Flash as well. This could be useful if you have a many layered photoshop file which contains things like imported illustrator elements and such. I believe that the import keeps all the layers in place, as grouped object.

- Present Indian immigration statuc: ECNR, etc. - check your password. It should be ECNR if you've travelled this far... :)

Don't recollect needing any of the above numbers.
- In our case, it was new passport in lieu of lost passport.
If you get in early (i.e. before they close for lunch, but preferably as soon as they open) they'll help you out with all that - generally nice & friendly folks in CGI.

-> Yes,All most all banks , execept few local banks like co-operative/union banks may not.
My choice ( ICICI ,CITI ,SBI ). while ICICI has professional customer service/ and good online portal/managebility. They are matured in NRI banking than any other. They are little behind interest rates when compared to SBI. Free Remittance USD to INR will take about a week. SBI, with poor customer service/portal frustates me, but for safety, SBI is winner. Also lately i found remittance takes just 1day ( using their NY branch ), best exchange rate.

Do all the banks which offer NRE accounts offer account services irrespective of which branch I open the account at? e.g., if I open an NRE account say in delhi, can I have access to and get service for the account say in bangalore? Or do I have to go to that particular branch where I opened the account? In this regard, which bank is better?

3. Which bank generally gives better exchange rates?
-> SBI. ( with a difference of 2-5cents/USD ICICI,Remit2India, SBI ).

-> Yes, for ex: ICICI with its pros and cons, it has transfer limit of 2laks/day outgoing using online. I would say, open in multiple banks and get to know which one is better over the time. Also,othes can correct me here, TDS ( tax deduction at source ) applies per account/per branch/per bank. So spread your money in multiple banks to stay under the TDS limits.

Have you noticed that it noticably degrades the image quality? Your little birds look pretty good, and I got a squirrel I was happy with, but these geese were not quite as sharp as I would have liked.

Just an update -
I just called USCIS for the FP notice and she mentioned that the appointment has been ordered but the notice has not been sent yet. Probably because the newark ASC must be overbooked. She asked me to wait for 30 days from now and if I don't receive anything, call them back.
Will wait and hope...
